MARK Jermyn feels the illness that hampered his side on Tuesday night against Merthyr Town has passed, giving him hope that his players can put out a stronger showing tomorrow away to Dunstable Town (3pm) in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division.

Five players played with a sickness bug in the 2-0 defeat to the Martyrs, but the Dorchester Town player-manager feels his beleaguered side will be up for the task against a high-flying Dunstable side.

He told Echosport: “It was a pity that we couldn’t give a better account of ourselves on Tuesday.

“But it’s gone and we’re facing a very good side that have had a great start.

“It will be much of the same from us in my mind.”

Speaking about the players to return, Jermyn added: “Hopefully we will have Ollie Bassett back (from international duty) for the weekend.

“We should have more of a first-team squad for the game, because on Tuesday we had a very young bench.”

Jake Smeeton will be suspended for tomorrow’s clash after picking up five yellow cards and the county town side will be without Liam Sayers, who has picked up a bad knee injury.

David Jerrard, who missed the defeat to Merthyr through illness, could return along with Nick Swann (ankle injury).
