THE Magpies have made their second loan signing from Yeovil Town this season as Joe Lea makes his way to the Avenue for an initial one-month period.

The former Southampton academy player, who signed for the west country club this summer, has made two appearances for the Glovers this season, against Everton in the EFL Cup and as a substitute against Portsmouth in the Checkatrade Trophy.

The deal is likely to have been struck by the county town side's assistant player-manager Nick Crittenden, who has links with the Huish Park outfit.

Lea, who is an attacking midfielder, comes in to help bolster Dorchester Town's midfield during the hectic month of October where they are set to play 10 games.

It is unclear whether fellow Yeovil Town midfielder Ollie Bassett will return to the Avenue after his spell away with the Northern Ireland Under-19 squad.

Player-manager Mark Jermyn told Echosport on Thursday that he was hopeful Bassett would return to the side this Saturday.

It is also not known whether Lea will be available for the Magpies' game against Dunstable Town today (3pm) as the deal was only announced on Saturday morning.
