DETERMINED Dean Evans insists the Terras are confident going into tonight’s FA Trophy third qualifying round replay with Poole Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium (7.45pm).

Midfielder Evans, who opened the scoring with a 33rd minute header as the sides battled out a 1-1 draw at Tatnam on Saturday, also insists the higher-level opposition in the Dolphins are “there to be got at”.

He told Echosport: “We were all gutted really for conceding so late (on Saturday) but we couldn’t have done a lot more. We put in a good shift.

“We are confident we will beat them at home. As long as we play like we did on Saturday and put the same effort in, there is no reason why we can’t.

“I think we have to try and limit their set-pieces. They are very dangerous, so if we can stop giving as many free-kicks away as we did in dangerous areas, I think that will give us a big advantage.

“On the whole, I think they are there to be got at. We have nothing to fear and we will be confident we can win.”

Speaking about his goal from the weekend, Evans added: “I made the run from deep and it was a great ball from Thommo (Ben Thomson). I thought I may have got up a bit early but, luckily, I was able to hang there and just put it in the corner.”

Charlie Davis and Mark Cooper are both banned for the return fixture this evening, while there are injury concerns over defender Stephane Zubar.

Ben Thomson and Ashley Wells were also forced off through injury at the weekend but are hoping to be fit, while player-manager Jason Matthews also revealed to Echosport that he was nursing a muscle issue to the upper body.

Asked about the changes to the team for tonight, Evans said: “I think the main difference this season is we have a good squad. If anyone does get injured, people are more than capable of filling in. I don’t really think it’s an issue, the ones that come in will want to do well and that’s what they are there for.”
