MAGPIES’ talisman Nathan Walker was proud to have played his 300th game for the club in Dorchester’s 2-1 win over Biggleswade on Saturday.

The powerful defender, who has also proved effective in a role as a striker this season, also picked up the man of the match award on the afternoon for his exploits at centre-half.

Speaking to Echosport after the victory against the Waders, Walker said: “It was a very nice day and to play 300 games for Dorchester is a lot for one club.

“I’d like to thank the club for actually giving me the games to play in and prove myself, so I am happy with that.”

On the game itself, he added: “I thought in the first half we were fantastic. In the second half we sat back and they came at us.

“They got on top when they got their goal and it gave them the lift they needed.

“But we were resolute at the end and all the boys stuck together to thankfully get the result.”

He continued: “The boys are very confident and we have always had that buzz in the dressing room.

“We believe in ourselves, all the players believe in themselves that we can go out there and do it.“

On the subject of milestones, player-boss Mark Jermyn is now just one appearance away from 700 for the club after coming off the bench for his 699th game on Saturday.
