WEYMOUTH bid for a hat-trick of victories in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division tomorrow but will face a step up in class when they make the trip to Chippenham Town (7.45pm).

Jason Matthews’ men have despatched of struggling Cirencester and St Neots with 4-0 wins in their last two league fixtures but the Terras’ boss is expecting a much tougher test against the Bluebirds, who comfortably triumphed 4-1 at the Bob Lucas Stadium earlier this season.

Reflecting on that contest ahead of the reverse fixture, Matthews told Echosport: “Obviously they came and put us to the sword on the night. We had a really bad night and they had a really good one.

“We need to go there now and carry on our recent run of form. For me, I feel we can go into the game with a little bit of confidence now.”

He added: “Chippenham have drawn their last three, so the pressure will be on them to get a result, which means they are going to come at us hard.

“They have two very good strikers in (David) Pratt and (Andy) Sandell. We need to nullify them but we have looked tight at the back with two clean sheets.

“Obviously Chippenham are a very good side but if we have any aspirations of trying to catch them, we need to take something from the game.”

Ben Thomson, who was ruled out at the eleventh hour at St Neots with a side strain, is rated 50-50 to feature.

Mark Cooper (hamstring) will miss the game for the visitors and Ashley Wells is struggling with illness.
