BRIDPORT 1

CADBURY HEATH 4

BEES’ chief Adam Fricker insisted he is “certainly not a quitter” when speaking about his side’s dismal run of form since the middle of December.

The Bees have now lost 10 games in a row following Saturday’s 4-1 defeat at home to Cadbury Heath.

But Fricker, who joined the St Mary’s Field side last summer after a successful spell at Chard Town, emphasised that he has the desire to turn his side’s poor run around.

Speaking after Saturday’s loss, in which Mark Salter scored in the second half after the Bees had conceded three times in the opening 20 minutes, Fricker told Echosport: “If we were just poor and had been poor for the last 10 games I’d have chucked my hat in and said to the team that they need someone else to turn this around.

“But that isn’t the case and I’m certainly not a quitter and I wouldn’t walk out on the club unless they wanted me to.”

Speaking about the sour defeat against Cadbury, the Bridport manager added: “The lads are down in the dumps and it’s very difficult.

“After the first 20 minutes they were excellent but you can’t go 3-0 down and expect the performance to come in after that.

“They give everything but when it’s too late.”

Another blow also came for the Bees as Andy Martin could be out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury picked up during the weekend encounter.
