WHILE the fate of the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division title remains up in the air, Portland United boss Gary Bailey is only focused on his side winning their final two games of the campaign.

The Blues are currently five points behind leaders Moneyfields with a game in hand coming tomorrow against Team Solent at Grove Corner (7.45pm).

Should Moneyfields be docked three points for fielding a suspended player back in January, and the Blues win tomorrow, the island outfit would be in the driving seat going into the final league fixtures of the campaign on Saturday.

But, with the decision on Moneyfields’ fate still unclear, boss Bailey is keen to keep his own house in order to give Portland the best possible chance of claiming the crown.

He said: “We can’t do anything more than try to win both of our remaining games.

“Our mind set is to win two games and that is how we are focusing ourselves. Team Solent are a good team and we have had good games against them.”

He added: “I trust my players, they are good lads and have played in big games during their time at the club under me before.

“If we get ourselves right then we are a handful for anybody. That’s what we are focusing on, we cannot control what other teams do, all we can do is focus on getting ready to try and produce the results we need.”

Ross Carmichael and Lewis Clarke are set to come back into the Blues’ squad tomorrow evening.
