CHAIRMAN Robin Satherley has revealed to Echosport that Simon Browne is the new manager of Portland United Football Club.
Browne, a previous manager of Wimborne Town and Hamworthy United, comes in as a replacement to Gary Bailey, who resigned from the role earlier this month.
Satherley said: “We are really happy to get Simon.
"He is an experienced manager and has had experience at Hamworthy United and Wimborne Town.
“Obviously he has got big shoes to fill after the record of Gary Bailey but we are confident that Simon will get us to the place we eventually want to be.
“Obviously it is going to be difficult for any manager to repeat what has just been done but we look forward to the new season and are confident that Simon will put the necessary things in position for the Blues to continue our success in the Wessex League.”
Browne’s assistant and coaching staff are yet to be announced.
