DORCHESTER Town boss Craig Laird insists that first-team coach Stuart Heath remains an “integral part” of the Magpies’ managerial team, writes Neil Walton.

Earlier this month, the county town side appointed former Bridport manager Trevor Senior to the backroom staff and Laird has now revealed that Heath’s duties remain unaltered.

He told Echosport: “Stuart’s role has not changed from last year as he’s still very much involved with the coaching side of things.”

Having helped the club avoid the drop, Heath had previously stated his desire to remain with Dorchester, believing he had “more to give” in ensuring the team become more competitive next season.

Heath will continue to assist Laird and begin working with Senior, who began his career with Dorchester Town.

Senior’s move to the club adds weight to the coaching network behind Laird, who is himself looking forward to having a greater influence in training.

“I will be much more involved with the coaching aspect now too, especially with the basics like set-pieces,” he said.

“So I’ll be doing a lot, lot more and obviously Stuart will still be having a big impact because he’s an integral part of the set-up.”
