DORCHESTER Town have signed former New Zealand international striker Rory Fallon.

Fallon, 35, played in the 2010 World Cup for the All Whites and started the memorable 1-1 draw with defending champions Italy, picking up a booking for a foul on Fabio Cannavaro.

The ex-Swansea forward had most recently featured at Torquay United, before which he had left a player-assistant manager role at Truro City in December.

Fallon has had notable stints at Barnsley, Swindon Town and Plymouth - racking up over 140 appearances for the Pilgrims, scoring 22 goals.

The 6ft 3in striker also counts Yeovil Town among his former sides, having had two brief spells with the Glovers.

Fallon's former clubs also extend to Scotland, where he played both for Aberdeen and St Johnstone between 2011 and 2014.

He is manager Steve Thompson's fifth signing after the new Magpies' boss secured the signatures of Ollie Taylor, Matt Cafer, Aaron Rodriguez and Chad Collins - Cafer having since left the club to join Farnborough.

Fallon is expected to go straight into the Magpies' matchday squad for tonight's trip to Kings Langley in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier (7.45pm).
