DORCHESTER Town assistant-manager Trevor Senior has been impressed by the Magpies’ commitment following the confirmation of their Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division safety.

The Magpies mathematically secured their place for the 2018/19 season in late March.

Despite losing two games to the weather this week, Senior is buoyed by the players’ attitude, with boss Steve Thompson casting an eye over his squad with a view to forming next season’s squad.

Senior told Echosport: “Steve’s basically looking at talking to players for next season, who’s committed, and who he wants.

“I can’t fault the efforts in training. We had a good turnout for two hours and it was a good session.

“The lads are showing what they want with seven games left. It’s pleasing that their attitude has been good and they want to go right to the end.

“It’s not going to make any difference with going down or the play-offs but hopefully we can try and climb a few places.”
