CUTHBURY will host a battle of the Magpies tomorrow as Dorchester Town Reserves visit their Wimborne counterparts (3pm).

The county town outfit, currently seventh in the Wyvern Premier League, could leapfrog their Dorset rivals with victory tomorrow but boss Robbie Taylor’s first priority is to avoid another washout after seeing their last encounter rained off.

He said: “We’re just looking to playing again as it’s been long overdue. I know the postponements can’t be helped but it spoils the momentum and you lose that flow.

“However, a few of the boys have been getting games elsewhere so they should be okay. They are though, all desperate to play tomorrow.”

With the first team out of action, the reserves could be bolstered as a result.

Taylor added: “I would imagine we might have a few of the first team with us, but I don’t know for definite.”

On the subject of tomorrow’s hosts, the second-string chief said: “It’s very difficult to gauge teams based on their league positions as they can change so much.

“We’ve had games where we have had a lot of youngsters involved but then we’ve also had games where we’ve had a few senior players involved.

“We’ve got no injury worries so we’ve got a full squad to choose from. Hopefully we will go there and get a win.”
