RYAN Dovell could make a welcome return to the Bees’ frontline for tomorrow’s clash with lowly Bristol Manor Farm (3pm).

The former Dorchester Town striker missed Tuesday night’s draw at Wells City after sustaining a groin injury in last Saturday’s FA Vase exit at the hands of Sherborne Town.

But manager Trevor Senior is optimistic of seeing Dovell back in action tomorrow as Bridport entertain the Tool-station Western Premier Division basement boys.

He said: “We’re hoping that Ryan will be okay. He came off last Saturday as a precaution and couldn’t stretch out on Tuesday.

“But we’re hopeful that the extra couple of days’ rest will be enough. It would be a big plus if he came back tomorrow.”

The Bees will, however, be without the services of Chris Clarke and Sam Buckler – whose first goal for the club rescued a point in midweek.

Senior added: “Chris is definitely out. He had 10 stitches in his ear last Saturday and he will be missing for a couple of weeks.

“Sam is also unavailable unfortunately. It’s a shame because he has been a very good signing for us this season.”

The St Mary’s Field outfit currently sit fourth in the table while tomorrow’s visitors are rock-bottom with only one win from eight fixtures.

Despite Manor Farm’s miserable start to the campaign, Bridport’s boss is taking nothing for granted.

He said: “They only lost 3-2 to Blackfield & Langley last Saturday in the FA Vase and they only lost 3-2 to Brislington, who are top of the league, on Tuesday so we won’t be taking them lightly.

“Our away form has been good and we have picked up eight points on the road so far.

“Of our seven league games, five have been away so it’s nice to get a home game in.

“However, we need to make it count tomorrow. We are also running an initiative tomorrow in which we have invited some schoolchildren to watch free of charge. Hopefully we will put on a good show.”
