FIVE-A-SIDE teams are being given the chance to take on a team of legends at England's training centre.

The national tournament, run by children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent, will hold a regional heat in Southampton on July 6 where sides will get the chance to qualify for the National Finals at Bisham Abbey on July 27.

At the finals, there will be the chance to take on the likes of Ray Parlour, Peter Reid, Rob Lee, Dave Beasant and Nigel Winterburn as well as other special celebrity guests.

Each side is allowed a maximum of seven players and entry is £50 per team. Each side is also required to raise a minimum of £250 for CLIC, which is only £35 each.

All heats are on Astroturf with the finals day played on grass.

Chairman of the Weymouth Sunday League Mark Cottingham, who is backing the tournament, said: "Please help make a difference to children with cancer and make their lives a more enjoyable one.

"The grants the families get from the charity can make all the difference and help ease the financial burden.

"Anyone who would like to find out more about the tournament or would like to make a sponsorship donation can contact me on 01305 839762 or 07866108720."
