AMBITIOUS: Former Ebbsfleet United's Chris McPhee with the FA Trophy
WEYMOUTH have pulled off a major coup by capturing the signature of former Ebbsfleet United midfielder Chris McPhee.
The 25-year-old netted the winner in last season's FA Trophy final at Wembley for the Fleet but decided to leave the club at the end of the campaign in favour of a move further south.
Terras' boss John Hollins said: "Chris had a great season for Ebbsfleet and he is another winner.
"He is very ambitious and we are very ambitious, and signing a player of his quality is a big coup for the club.
"He can play just about anywhere. He can play anywhere across the midfield, up front or even at right back and he also scores goals which is something we love."
McPhee began his career at Brighton & Hove Albion where he became a regular in the first team in 2003-04. A foot injury during the following season halted his progress and in August 2005 he joined Conference side Aldershot Town on loan.

After making 14 outings for the Shots he then returned to the Seagulls where he struggled to break back into the side.
A further loan spell at Swindon Town
followed before Brighton then released him at the end of the 2005-06 after they had suffered relegation from the Championship.
McPhee left the Withdean Stadium having made 69 appearances for the Sussex outfit and quickly captured a deal at Torquay United.
The following season he then moved on to Ebbsfleet where he concluded his stay by
winning the man of the match award in the
1-0 FA Trophy Final success over Torquay.
Hollins added: "Chris is another great
addition to a squad of 18 or 19 players that is really coming together now. They are all working hard in training and we have a great mixture from the young ones to the more experienced lads like Chris, Kevin Sandwith, Santos Gaia, Marcus Browning and Ryan Williams."
Weymouth will open their Blue Square Premier campaign with a clash against
Grays Athletic at the Wessex Stadium on August 9.
The fixtures were released yesterday and Hollins is happy with how they have turned out.
He said: "Whatever way they come out does not matter to me although it is good to start with a home game.
"Saying that, Grays are a strong side and that will no doubt be a tough encounter.
"But whoever you play at this standard are tough and that is why we will need big performances every week.
"You cannot afford to look at the fixture list and think we will be okay in two weeks' time as we are playing them and them because that will be too late. You have to produce the goods week-in week-out."
