DORCHESTER Sports’ manager Ashley James was full of praise for tomorrow’s opposition in Hamworthy Recreation but will be going all out for three points when the sides meet at the Avenue (2pm).

A spirited fightback from Sports saw them record a dramatic 3-3 draw when the sides met at Magna Road back in November, and the county town boss knows his side are in for another fierce test this time around.

Speaking about Rec, who last won the Dorset Premier League title back in 2015, James told Echosport: “I’d say they were probably the best passing team we have played against this year when we went to their place.

“For 75 minutes, they played really well, we were 3-0 down and, in the last 15 minutes, we pulled it back to 3-3.”

He added: “We have got to stop them from passing the ball because, if you give them any sort of room, they just play around you and they are a very good side.

“We have got to get in their faces, be up for it and it’s going to be another big game. If we beat them we go above them. It’s a massive incentive for us.

“If we can win against Ham Rec it would be a massive statement to take into the last third of the season.”

Elsewhere in the division this weekend, leaders Balti Sports make the trip to Gillingham Town Reserves.

A win for Marco Nott’s men in that game could see them extend their lead at the summit to nine points.
