PORTLAND United are hoping to extend their 11-match winning run as they travel to Arlesford Town tomorrow night (8pm).

The Blues currently sit in third position in the Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division, but with games in hand and high confidence, manager Gary Bailey is looking forward to another tough test.

He said: “Confidence is high. It’s another long trip for us, one of our furthest this season so it’s not ideal on a Wednesday evening but that’s what we’ve got to put up with and we’ll look to give a good account of ourselves.

“Alresford are a good side, they’re on a good run and are strong at home. We’re in the middle of a tough run of fixtures at the moment and it’s important that we keep doing what we’re doing if want to get anything out of it.

“We know they’re a good team, they’re in the top six with games in hand so we know it’s going to be a tough test but like every week we just focus on ourselves and make sure we’ve got our own house in order.”

Bailey’s side are on a spectacular unbeaten run which stretches to 19 games, but the manager is adamant his side won’t get complacent.

He said: “They’re focused and enjoying the time at the top end of the table.

“It’s an interesting period to be in the mix and it’s something we challenged them with a couple of weeks ago to make sure our season doesn’t fizzle out.”

The Blues are set to be without Jamie Beasley who is unavailable, while Crit Clarke and Lewis Clarke are set to return.
