TERRAS’ boss Mark Molesley has underlined the importance of making his squad adaptable to conditions next season.

The new man in charge, who was officially unveiled as the successor to Jason Matthews on the final game of the season last month, insists he will be looking to recruit a squad of players who are able to mix it up, depending on their surroundings.

“Seeing this league in the last two years, I know you have to be adaptable,” he told Echosport.

“The season changes within the seasons.

“At the start you have nice pitches and you can get away with a certain style, once the bad weather comes it gets a bit heavy and you have to do something else.

“We ended up with hard horrible dry bobbly pitches at the end of this season. You have to be ready and you have to be adaptable for those three different phases of the season and it’s about getting that balance right.”

Molesley has already retained six of his current squad with Stephane Zubar, Ashley Wells, Sean Stewart, Charlie Davis, Tiago Sa and Aaron Rodriguez all agreeing terms to stay with the club at present.

And with the surroundings at the Bob Lucas Stadium familiar to that personnel, the Terras’ manager is looking to make their home form count when the new season gets underway.

He added: “Having a good home pitch and a great crowd, we have really got to use to our advantage. We have got to make the place a fortress, get people behind us, and have to make it somewhere to be feared by other teams.”
