FORMER Terras’ duo Chris Shephard and Jake Wannell have finalised their moves to Salisbury FC.

The pair link up with ex-Terras’ boss Steve Claridge, who is delighted to get the former Weymouth pair on board.

“I’m delighted with these signings,” Claridge told the Whites’ official website.

“They will strengthen us and are coming here for the right money within our budget.”

He added: “I’ve known about Chris for a while but I wasn’t sure if I would be able to get him, so it’s a coup for us. Jake caught my eye when I went to watch Weymouth a couple of times last season. This is why you get out to games, to see what’s out there.

“Chris is one of those players you pay to watch. He’s someone who’s going to get you off your seat and excite you.

“But he’s not just one who only wants to get on the ball. He’ll do his work tracking back as well. He’s got as much ability as there is around in the South West and he’s brave as well on the ball and willing to take a challenge.

“Jake is a good size, strong, tall and quick, which is what we were looking for.

“He’s decent on the ball as well and we need defenders who are comfortable in possession because of the way I like to play.

“They are both good characters as well and are coming here for the right reasons – they understand what we are trying to achieve.”

Shephard’s switch to the Whites was first revealed by Echosport, after announcing the pair’s departure last week.

n Elsewhere, former Terras' striker Stuart Fleetwood has made the move to join Merthyr Town.
