BALTI Sports manager Marco Nott has highlighted the importance of club fundraisers as his team prepares to host a race night at the Famous Old Spa at 8pm on Saturday, June 24.

Funds from the eight-race event and a large raffle featuring Paul Merson-signed memorabilia will go towards paying for everything from pitches to referees and Nott has a target figure in mind.

He said: “If we didn’t do nights like this we couldn’t run the club, they are so important. If we raise £2,000 we can hopefully get to the stage where we can pay off all our pitches for next season.

“Everything comes from me financially so this stands us in good stead.”

Nott hopes the evening will attract more sponsors to the club, with several on board already.

“They get their name in the programme and one of the races will be named after their business. There is also a special matchday sponsor for man-of-the-match awards etc.

“We have got three already: Balti House, The Famous Old Spa and Weymouth Precision Engineers.

“That’s for entering the league, training fees and new kits. This season the gold and black is our home strip and the blue and yellow will be our away strip.”

n A £100 sponsorship package is available to prospective sponsors, including season-long programme sponsorship, one race title during the fundraiser and a matchday sponsor.
