MARKET HOUSE 3

THE STAR 5

AFTER a few tough weeks which saw The Star forfeit a game and lose by a resounding 10-0 scoreline, new manager Lee Rockingham seems to be turning the tide.

It was the Market House who took the lead when a Sam Moor's 30-yard screamer found the top corner, leaving Dan Quinault helpless.

It was the player/manager who got his side back into the game after the ball fell kindly to him and he managed to volley home to equalise.

The Star should have taken the lead through Rockingham but after he was ordered to have his penalty re-taken which saw his second spot kick saved by the House keeper.

Just before the break, Quinault found himself beaten again from distance, this time by House captain Rich Brown.

Soon after the interval, the home side extend their lead through Kris Cepa, and the defender found himself alone at the back post and was able to tuck away his side’s third.

However, shortly afterwards Market House were a man down as Michael Colebrooke saw himself sent off.

With their numerical advantage the Star, began to make their opponents pay with Rockingham running through to lob the keeper.

Shortly after that, Zac Scott equalised before Callum Butler put his side ahead with a left foot volley from twelve yards out.

Rockingham made sure of all three points when he completed his hat-trick, via the post, shortly before the full time whistle.

JOHN GREGORY 4

WYKE SMUGGLERS 1

JOHN Gregory continued their stellar start to the season with a 4-1 victory at home to Wyke Smugglers.

The Southill outfit dominated the early stages and took the lead through Steve Lambert.

The away side soon hit back thanks to some sloppy defensive play, which allowed Louis Attree to capitalise and leave it all square at the break.

The second half was much of the same until Carl McClements rounded three opposing players which enabled the returning Chris Skinner to break free of the Smugglers defence to tap home his side’s second.

Paul Aston added a third shortly before Skinner added a fourth and his second to give his side all three points.

DOLPHIN 8

SYDNEY ARMS 0

THE DOLPHIN made light work of Dorchester outfit, Sydney Arms by beating them 8-0.

Hattricks coming from Danny Andrew & Phil Anderson sealed the deal while goals from Dean Williams and Chris James completed the scoring.

GLOUCESTER 3

WYKE SOCIAL 4

WYKE SOCIAL bounced back from last week’s defeat against the league leaders to notch up their second win of the season away at the Gloucester.

The Gloucester took the lead through Lee Paterson, however Wyke soon hit back with a goal from Josh Alexander and then took the lead through Liam Reid.

After the break the game came to life when the Gloucester’s Ethan Lister saw himself dismissed. Then the home side got themselves back into the game when Paterson grab his second of the game.

However any hopes of a revival was short lived when Rory Walkington and Liam O'Shaughnessy added to the Gloucester’s woes.

Paterson did manage to complete his hat-trick and to give the Wyke outfit a nervy few final minutes but they saw out the game to take all the points.
