WAREHAM RANGERS 0

BALTI SPORTS 4

BALTI Sports’ resurgence continued with a comprehensive 4-0 victory at Wareham Rangers in the Dorset Premier League.

Danny Andrews was on target with a double, while Charlie Kenderdine and Oscar Preece also netted.

After a dire winter, which saw Marco Nott’s men collect a solitary 1-0 win over Sturminster Newton United, Balti have now secured three wins from their past four games.

The result also represented their first clean sheet in the league since late September.

Speaking to Echosport, Nott always believed his side would return to winning ways.

He said: “It’s weird really. I always knew we had enough quality, it was just a case of winning that first game.

“Going into the Wareham game we knew we were favourites. The pitch was unbelievably bobbly but we stuck at it well and a 4-0 win we would have taken all day.”

He added: “The first goal was Charlie, he got off the mark for the first time this season – he was relieved with that.

“It was a free-kick, a cross-cum-shot into the far corner. That got us going.

“Then Oscar found some space in the box and shot into the side of the net.

“We brought Jack Taylor on and he got the third assist, passing it to Danny who finished. Then the fourth was a ball over the top and Danny lobbed the keeper. It was a good win considering the conditions.”

Commenting on the clean sheet, Nott said: “It was nice to get a clean sheet. Andy (Nott’s) confidence is a lot better and for him to get that clean sheet, and the defence, has been a long time coming. It was quite a big thing for us.”
