PORTLAND United’s Gary Bailey and Balti Sports’ Marco Nott picked up awards at the Dorset FA County Awards.

Bailey won the award for Outstanding Contribution as a Manager in Dorset Football, while Nott also picked up an award for Outstanding Contribution to Community Football.

Bailey said: “I was very proud to get that, it was nice to be nominated.

“It is a great honour to get recognised like that and obviously it is a personal award but it is also testament to all of the hard work that people who have worked with me have put in over the years as well because you cannot be successful just on your own.

“It is a team game and even on the management side of things it is a team thing. I am very, very proud and a little bit humbled actually to pick it up.”

Nott told Echosport: “It was quite unbelievable, really. I didn’t know what to think. I’ve never been to a DCFA night.

“It was a three-course meal and it was a bit emotional. Chris Hicks and my brother (Andy Nott) got together and did a video about it all. I almost had a tear to the eye.

“It was something quite special and nice to get an award for services to Balti over the years. I was really happy and it was quite a proud moment.

“You don’t realise what you’ve achieved unless you think back.”
