REDLANDS Rebels’ under-13s girls have won the Dorset Girls’ League for the second year in a row after dropping just three points all season.

They suffered just one loss all season as they strolled to a well deserved title, accruing 51 points.

This follows their Dorset County Cup victory back in March, where they won 4-0 in the final against Poole Town Wessex.

Three of the girls in the squad have famous relatives, as Elin Starck is ex-Weymouth and Dorchester Town manager Stuart Morgan’s granddaughter and Olivia Conning is ex-Weymouth player Peter Conning’s daughter, while Renee Marquis is the daughter of Rob Marquis, another ex-Weymouth player.

Tim Davis, manager of the under-13s girls, said: “The girls have been magnificent again this season culminating in achieving the double which is testament to not only how talented they are as a group but how hard they work at their football. They are a credit both to the club and their parents.”

Ceri Morgan, mother of Elin Stark and coach of the Redlands under-13s Bandits said: “We have only dropped three points, lost one game all season which is really, really good.

“They have done brilliantly this year, they have really gelled as a team, there are some amazing players in that squad and I think they could go quite far.”

The team are also looking to possibly enter into the Somerset league but it is still being debated among the parents of the squad.

Morgan said: “It would be nice to keep the girls together for another season and see what happens.

“If we did go into that Somerset league it would be a harder challenge for them and we probably would not dominate as much as we have the Dorset League but I think the girls need that for a bit more of a challenge as well.”
