WRESTLING: Nitro out to defend title at Weymouth Pavilion
7:00am Tuesday 13th August 2013 in Local Sport
ROBBIE Nitro will be out to defend his Dorset middleweight championship when wrestling makes a welcome return to Weymouth Pavilion on August 22.
The five-bout show promises to be a massive hit with Flatliner, Phil Powers and ex-WWE superstar Joe Legend also set to compete.
Event organiser Robbie ‘Nitro’ Constance said: “The Weymouth Pavilion is where I made my in-ring debut so the fact wrestling is returning to the venue after a seven-year absence is fantastic.
“It used to be a bit of a tradition to hold it there so the fact we have managed to bring it back is superb and it promises to be a great night.
“Flatliner, who was recently on the television game show Distraction, is headlining the event along with Joe Legend, who was with the WWE just a few years ago. I will also be putting my Dorset middleweight championship on the line against another local wrestler, Bobby Rocco.
“Following the success of our last show at the Riviera Hotel earlier this summer, the aim is to get wrestling back full time in the town and with the help of both venues hopefully we can do that.”
Tickets for the Pavilion show are priced at just £7 for any seat with the doors set to open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
