THE West Dorset Indoor League will be holding a celebration day on Saturday, March 22 (11am-4.30pm).

As well as presenting the trophies to the winning teams, the league also want to use this day to celebrate cricket, and to acknowledge the sportsmanship that has been shown throughout the season.

A number of matches have been scheduled during the afternoon at the Osprey Leisure Centre. The under-12s will play at noon, the under-14s at 1.30pm, and the under-16s at 3pm.

The format will be to mix all the players into two teams and play a 12-over-a-side game purely for fun and to celebrate the season.

The league will be looking at running a cup competition next year dependent on the entries in each age group.

A league spokesman said: “As this day is a celebration of cricket, we would be more than happy for anyone to come along and participate, even if they have not played in the league this season.

“The presentations will take place at 4.30pm in the sports hall.

“Light refreshments will be available all day from the Legacy Café.

“We look forward to seeing players and officials at Osprey, especially players who have had a successful season and are due to receive their medals.”
