WILLIAM Fox-Pitt and mount Chilli Morning completed a hat-trick of victories at the Bramham International Horse Trials.
The double Olympic silver medallist from Sturminster Newton collected a cheque for £2,000 after winning the British Equestrian Trade Association CIC3*.
He and Christopher Stone’s Chilli Morning took the first place rosette when they added just 5.6 time penalties on the cross country section to their dressage score of 31.5 – that had followed a faultless show jumping display in the morning.
Fox Pitt, a nine-time winner at Bramham in all, said: “He’s (Chilli Morning) been in great form and hasn’t put a foot wrong all week – he was in the zone.
“After a fairly miserable day he was a bit quiet when I got on and he always goes better if his blood is up, but as soon as we started he picked up.
“We’ve achieved what I wanted – it was a nice run with enough to do.”
The duo are now gearing up for a competition in Germany and Fox-Pitt feels the stallion has the credentials to be his horse of choice for September’s World Championships.
