A TOTAL of 10 teams from the Dorset area gathered at Lytchett Recreation Ground to take part in the club’s first-ever six-a-side tournament.

The teams were split into two leagues of five for the group stages and the top two in each qualified for the semi-finals.

Every Dorchester player involved did themselves and their club proud, and the final ended up being between two teams from the county town.

Tom Johnson’s winning goal for Tigers Two in the other semi meant they reached the final after only conceding one goal.

Dorchester coach Colin Mead said had nothing but praise for the players who took part on the day.

He said: “It was fantastic to witness the skill, teamwork and sportsmanship on show and I would like to thank everyone involved for all their hard work and help in making the tournament such a success, especially all of the referees who kept going all day and did such a fantastic job.”
