CHRIS Shephard returns from injury for Weymouth tonight when Chard Town are the opposition in the Terras’ third pre-season outing.

The former Exeter City and Eastbourne Borough winger missed last Saturday’s thrashing of Guernsey after picking up a dead leg against the Royal Marines two days previously.

Trialist Jamie West is set to be involved at Chard, who ply their trade in Division One of the Western League, having also sat out the weekend’s victory at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Terras’ player-manager Jason Matthews is hopeful too that striker Tim Sills will be well enough to play – the summer signing is trying to shake off a virus.

“We’re looking forward to going to Chard and trying to build on what we did on Saturday,” said Matthews.

“It gives people another chance to get some game time under their belts and we’ll treat Chard with the respect they deserve.

“Jamie and Chris will come back into the squad and I’m hoping Tim is going to be well enough to take part.”

Matthews confirmed that Jake Wannell should play a part in Saturday’s clash with Plymouth Argyle after arriving back from holiday.

And Luke Winsper’s recovery from a broken metatarsal is continuing, with Matthews hoping the youngster will be able to play a part in the pre-season fixtures.

* Elsewhere, Bridport, who host Portland United at St Mary’s Field tonight (7.45pm), now know they will start their 2014/15 Toolstation League Western Premier Division campaign at home to Melksham Town on August 9.

They then travel to Buckland Athletic four days later before Highworth Town visit West Dorset in the FA Cup extra preliminary round.
