PORTLAND United will contest their final pre-season game of the summer as they take on new members of the Dorset Senior League Balti House at Redlands (7pm).
Wary of picking up any knocks just a few days before the start of their Dorset Premier League title defence, Blues’ boss Gary Bailey is set to use the whole of his squad as well as look at some of the club’s reserve players.
“It’s just more of an organised training game for us, obviously we don’t want to go full out just before we properly kick off and It’s an opportunity for me to cast my eye over everybody.
“If players are available then I will involve them but if anyone is carrying any knocks or niggles I will give them a rest.
“The players know how to treat it, it’s going to be a training game rather than a friendly from our point of view.”
Carl Mutch could be rested as a precaution for the game as he picked up a calf strain against Dorchester Town last week.
