JAY Lelliott could only finish seventh in both his finals last night at the British Gas ASA National Youth Championships in Sheffield.
Competing in the men’s 19 years-and-over category, Portland’s Lelliott recorded a time of 2mins 04.19secs in the 200m backstroke.
The Bath University swimmer, sixth in the 1500m freestyle final at the recent Commonwealth Games, then finished the 200m freestyle in 1:51.98.
Lelliott is competing in seven events at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, including the 100m, 200m, 400m and 1500m freestyle, 100m and 200m backstroke, and 200m butterfly.
