BROADMAYNE Playing Field witnessed a contender for individual performance of the season last Sunday, as William Turland netted nine times for the hosts in their 16-7 defeat of Sailors Return.

It is not clear whether Turland’s achievement is a record for the Weymouth Sunday League, but the feat has seen him rocket up this term’s top scorers’ list.

Joshua Beale and Russell Harris also scored braces against Sailors, while Ben McInnes, Dan Hughes and substitute Alex Burt were on target too.

League leaders Dorothy kept their winning run going thanks to a 6-0 home thrashing of Moby Dick’s.

Danny Andrews and Dean Williams both found the net twice and Dorothy’s other strikes came from James Aldom and Michael Stone.

Still behind Dorothy on goal difference, New Star hammered Bakers Arms 7-1 at Dorchester Rec.

Star boss Matt Ramsey was able to rest a few regulars and give some others a chance to show what they could do.

Karl Edgar opened the scoring in the second minute and then Antony Carlile buried a free-kick from just outside the box.

Stuart Burley was making his return to the team and got a third with a drive from an acute angle.

The fourth came when Cam-eron Campbell played in Carlile and he ran half the pitch to score his second.

Shortly after the restart, Chris Squibb found younger brother Rob to make it 5-0 – the same player added another later on.

Noel Mackie grabbed a consolation for the hosts with 12 minutes left but there was still time for Carlile to claim his hat-trick and take his total for the season to 10.

Famous Old Spa made it four wins from four with a 4-2 win at Dolphin, Sean Gulliver and Sean Zima scoring for the hosts.

Trev Cottrell was sent off for Junction Trojans in their 4-2 loss against Market House. Mark Cornell and Simon Rolfe were Trojans’ scorers.

A goal from Chris Shutlar was all Weatherbury could muster in their 6-1 beating by The Alex.
