ADAM Linaker is set to return from injury to boost Portland United’s strike force for this weekend’s meeting with Ham-worthy United Reserves at Grove Corner.

A neck problem kept Linaker out of the Blues’ cup win at Bridport Reserves last Saturday, but he is expected to feature against the Dorset Premier League’s bottom club tomorrow (3pm).

Brandon Heal also comes into Gary Bailey’s squad, though the Portland boss is without the services of Ross Carmichael.

Goals from Ed Bastick and Dan Newnham saw the island- ers beat Hamworthy 2-0 at the County Ground earlier in the season.

Bailey’s side were given a thor-ough examination on that occasion and he knows it will be no different this time round.

“We are enjoying a nice run of form at the moment and I’m looking for us to keep that momentum going,” he said.

“We’ve had two clean sheets in a row now and that’s something else I want to build on.

“We played Hamworthy earlier in the season at their place and were made to work very hard for the three points.

“They are a young and enthusiastic side and we must make sure we approach it in the right manner, regardless of our respective league positions.”

Although Hamworthy sit at the foot of the league table, they go into the game after beating Cranborne 4-0 in the cup.

Jake Richmond may well have to call on a few of Weymouth’s under-18 players for the reserves’ trip to Westland Sports.

The Terras’ boss has been buoyed by his team’s last two performances but he is going to be without a number of faces this weekend.

Sam Nichols and Sean Zima are suspended, Ashley Staines is injured and both Aston Butcher and Dan Pidgely are away.

Elsewhere, Bridport Reserves’ chief Robin Townsend will want to see a major improvement from the Bees when they go to Cranborne.

Townsend felt Bridport lacked desire and played as individuals during their 5-0 loss to Portland last time out.

Bradley Asagba, who took charge of Blandford United for the first time last Saturday, takes his men to Sturminster Marshall, the side sitting one place above them in the table.
