BEES’ chief Trevor Senior has warned his side against complacency ahead of their crucial FA Vase first round encounter with Calne Town tomorrow (3pm).

Bridport have been in fine form throughout the competition so far, including an 11-0 thumping of East Cowes Victoria in the previous round.

And although Calne are a step below Bridport in the league ranks, Senior has urged his side to keep their focus and be as professional as they can against the Wiltshire outfit.

“I think we need to be confident but not complacent, if we started like we did against Sherborne we could come unstuck,” the Brid-port boss said.

“The draw has been kind to us, we have had two home games so far and this game is against a team in the lower league.

“I have spoken to the Melksham manager about them and he has been very helpful in giving me the run down on them. By all accounts they have a very good goalkeeper so our finishing has to be better.”

The only injury concern for the Bees ahead of Saturday’s game is striker Warren Byerley, who limped off after 12 minutes in the Dorset Senior Cup defeat to Sherborne with a knee problem, but Senior is hoping the bustling frontman will be fit.

He added: “He landed awkwardly and felt something above his knee, he just came off as a precaution to ice it and rest it.

“With his experience he leads the line well and he’s sharp, we need him fit.”

Chris Senior will not be available for tomorrow’s clash.
