DORSET’S Yasmin Davis recorded the biggest success of her career in claiming the Jeep All Stars Grand Prix title.

Worth £3,000 to the winner, Yasmin took the victory on Zilverster II, owned by Alison Davis.

They were the sole partnership to record a double clear in the eight-horse jump-off to win in front of a packed house at the hugely popular gala night.

“It’s all thanks to Matt Lanni, Corinne Bracken and British Showjumping’s international training experience,” said Yasmin, who was selected to compete in Bonheiden, Belgium, a month ago under Lanni and Bracken’s guidance through British Showjumping’s scheme.

She added: “They walked the courses with me and advised in the warm-up. All their knowledge was very helpful.”

And Blandford Forum-based Davis relied on Lanni’s training for the event. “He gives me confidence,” she claimed.

Ten-year-old Zilverster II was purchased from a farmer in Holland two years ago.

“She was used as a broodmare and bred two foals, and although she had been broken in, she only knew the basics and it took ages to click with her,” said Yasmin, who struggled until spending a month with Emile Tacken last year.

It was a slow process and Yasmin only noticed the improvements six months ago, but she is now reaping the rewards.

Her ambitions include the Young Rider European Championships 2015 and the Under-23 British Championship at Olympia.
