JASON Matthews admitted that the Terras’ FA Trophy battle at Burnham last night was not the prettiest of ties, but he was chuffed to get his penalty plan spot on.

With the game destined for a stalemate at the Gore, the Terras brought on Jordan Copp and Tristan Plummer in the second period of extra time, both of whom found the net in the shoot-out.

The player-manager insisted that there were seven willing penalty takers in total, and also revealed he is looking to reinforce his squad over the coming week.

Commenting on the shoot-out, which the Terras won 5-4 following a 0-0 draw with the Blues, he told Echosport: “It was obviously something we spoke about especially with the way the game went. We executed our plan and I was really pleased that we had people willing to take a penalty.

“We may need some bodies now because of the amount of games we have played and the pitch was very heavy last night.

“I will probably look to bring in a couple of bodies in the next week or so.”
