DORCHESTER SPORTS 0 BALTI HOUSE 5

DORSET Senior League leaders Balti House played their best football of the season in a five-star showing at Dorchester Sports.

Balti maintained their three-point advantage over Chickerell at the top thanks to a Ricky Lane brace and goals for Charlie Kenderdine, Phil Anderson and Carl McClements.

Boss Marco Nott was purring over his side’s performance as Balti completed a league double over the side they comfortably beat 3-0 on the opening day of the campaign.

“That was the best we have played this season,” Nott told Echosport. “Charlie Kenderdine was man of the match by a long way.

“We were outstanding and Sports couldn’t really live with us after we took the lead about 20 minutes in.

“Ricky Lane found the top corner to put us 1-0 up and Carl McClements scored a second on the half-hour mark but that was disallowed for offside.

“Andy Nott pulled off two really good saves for us after that and we could easily have been 2-1 down at that stage.

“But we dominated the second half and pressed really high up the pitch.

“Charlie went through the middle to make it 2-0, Phil Anderson scored from Ricky’s corner for 3-0, and Carl McClements scored the goal of the game on 60 minutes.

“Five minutes later there was some really good play by Charlie and Ricky got the fifth, though the only downside was that Charlie missed a penalty.

“It was pleasing to keep a clean sheet too as we hadn’t had one for a long time.”

Nott also had a few words for opposite number Ashley James, adding: “I’ve got a lot of respect for Dorchester Sports.

“Me and Ashley are quite similar, we’re both young managers, and our teams have gone up through the leagues together.”
