WEYMOUTH Reserves manager Jake Richmond was full of praise for Bridport Reserves boss Robin Townsend, but he will be eager to capture three points against his opposite number when the sides clash at the Bob Lucas Stadium this evening (7.45pm).

Ben Clarke, Roger Cummings and Tristan Gale all struck when Bridport secured a 3-1 win when the sides met in September.

And despite his side going down to the same score line against Portland United last time out, Richmond is remaining positive.

“I don’t think my lads need to produce a reaction because I trust them. They played well against Portland and we were unfortunate,” he told Echosport.

“Robin is one of the good guys in the league and if we play well against his side we will be okay, if we don’t we may struggle.

“It is his last season with them and it will be good to have another derby against Bridport. Midweek games are always a bit special as well.

“Either way it will be good to welcome him to the Bob Lucas once more before the end of the season.”

Also commenting on the clash, St Mary’s Field chief Townsend added: “When we played them on our pitch it was the best we have played all season.

“We outclassed Weymouth at home and I am sure Jake will remember that and want to do something about it.

“Our lads will be up for it and it will be a good atmosphere.”
