THE identity of those making up Dorchester Town’s first board as a Community Benefit Society (CBS) have been revealed.

An eight-strong all-male board of directors, plus one associate director, includes Matt Lucas as chairman, Dave Martin as vice-chairman and company secretary, and Dave Ring, who is the football secretary.

The other directors are Paul Harris, Adam Robertson, former Magpies owner Shaun Hearn, Richard Coole and Dave Read.

Allen Knott acts as an associate director and Annie Greenslade is the club’s office manager.

All positions on the new board are subject to those involved passing the Football Association’s (FA) Owners’ and Directors’ Test.

The change to a CBS is set to be finalised imminently, and when it is the Avenue outfit will be known as Dorchester Town Community Football Club Ltd.

It was confirmed last week that the FA had ratified the Magpies’ CBS conversion and the process of registration with the Financial Conduct Authority had been approved and completed.

Fans will soon be able to become part of the new set-up, with an annual membership costing £30 for adults and £10 for those under the age of 18.

“This is a conversion so it’s important we form a board with people that can cover all of the different things that we need to help the club move forward,” said Lucas.

“I’m very much looking forward to everybody working together and people getting involved with club.

“That’s why we wanted to have the people on the board that we do have.”

Dorchester have gone with eight board members to start with but there is scope to add four more.
