GARY Bond secured his first win of the season at Weymouth Golf Club, carding an excellent nett 64 to return the lowest score of the weekend in Division Two of the September Tankard.

Young Sam Trott continues to impress by winning Division One with a nett 66, and Rob Druce took Division Three again with a nett 69.

Tom Robson and Billy Hathway put in a stunning performance at Yeovil with a two-under-par score to become the new Dorset Foursomes champions.

The annual Pink Day at the club was also a huge success, the wonderful weather and weird attire of the golfers adding to this very special day in aid of breast cancer.

More than £3,000 was raised in one day and thanks go to organiser Graham Vile and his many volunteers.

The ladies’ Beales team played extremely well to reach the semi-finals for the West Zone but lost against Sherborne.

However, the ladies’ team successfully lifted the Parkin Cup with a 2-1 win over Bridport.

Meanwhile, in the Frost Cup four-ball better-ball competition at Lyme Regis Golf Club, Phil Webb and vice-captain elect Mark Lewis scored a wonderful 46 points to just beat Mark Colley and Merv Knight on countback.

Roger Turner and Denis McCallum claimed third with 45 points.

The seniors’ Veterans’ Trophy was won by Brian Deem with an exceptional score of nett 68.
