BRIDPORT’S players have another chance to boost the club’s coffers tomorrow when they begin their campaign in the FA Vase.

The Bees start with a second qualifying round tie at home against Sydenhams Wessex Division One outfit Hythe & Dibden (3pm), with £800 on offer to the winners of the St Mary’s Field clash.

Trevor Senior’s charges earned the club around £3,500 for their exploits in this season’s FA Cup, and the Bridport boss is hoping for more of the same in the Vase.

“We did well in the FA Cup and it would be nice to do the same in the Vase, like we did last season,” he said.

“We’re going to be playing teams at our level and below in the Vase and we’ve got home advantage for this weekend’s game.

“They are away from home and have nothing to lose so it’s up to us to make sure they don’t cause an upset.

Matt Condliffe misses the match through suspension after his red card against Gillingham and Jamie Symes (ankle) is also out of the tie.

Jamie Beasley and Max Buckler are set to come into the squad following game time with the reserves.

Sam Buckler and Alan Hill won’t be involved tomorrow but will travel with Shaun Annetts second XI to Blandford United in the Dorset Senior Trophy.

Hythe & Dibden sit ninth in their league with two wins from seven games.

The Boatmen have one victory from five away fixtures in all competitions this term.
