JONAH Ayunga has finalised his move to Championship side Brighton, where he will join the club's under-21 set-up.

The 18-year-old, who joins the Seagulls from Dorchester Town, signed a deal today which runs until June 2018.

“Obviously it’s sad to see Jonah go but at the same time he is a
super lad and for everyone at non-League level it’s a privilege to see a player progress into the professional game,” said Dorchester chairman Matt Lucas.

“It’s been great to have his family in and around the club and we are very proud that Jonah has made the move to Brighton.

“We wish him the best of luck for the future and I don’t think he’s the sort of person who is going to let this go to his head.

“Jonah has shown that if you’ve got the right attitude and work hard then you can achieve great things.

“It was great that our under-18 management team brought him in and gave him a chance before he moved up to the first team.”

Brighton academy manager John Morling told the South Coast club's website: "Jonah is somebody we became aware of earlier this season, and we are delighted to welcome him here to the club.

"He is a very exciting young talent. He is a strong, quick and powerful centre forward, who has impressed in a short space of time at Dorchester.

"Our recruitment team has been monitoring him during that period and he comes here very highly recommended. I am confident he will prove to be a great addition to Simon Rusk's under-21 squad."
