WEYMOUTH Amateur Boxing Club president David Nelmes is pictured receiving cheques from Sport England, Weymouth & Portland Lions and Dorset Health and Wellbeing which will go towards a new gym and sports hall at the Marsh Playing Fields.
The club has also received financial support from the Bernard Sunley Foundation, Synergy Housing, The Valentine Charitable Trust, Agincare, Melcombe Regis Rotary Club, Weymouth Carnival Committee, Moonfleet 2000 Indoor Bowling Club and the backing of The Friends of the Marsh.
The commitment of David and Gordon Nelmes, Brian Honnor, Henry Bowring, Fred Legg, Alan Heal and many others has ensured continuous success for the club over the years.
The club gave an extra thanks to the Moonfleet Bowls Club as without their help the new build would not have been possible.
