WEYMOUTH captain Simon Browne wants another top team effort from his side to continue their good start to the season when they take on Broadstone Seconds in the County League Division One tomorrow (1.30pm).

His side sit atop their division after a 12-run win over Bere Regis last Saturday and the captain is wary of their opponents tomorrow.

He said:” Second teams are always an unknown, it always depends on the first team as they take precedent.

“We will approach it the same way as we did last week and hope the players put in a decent performance.”

Six of his batsman were all sent back to the pavilion for scores in the 20s – including the captain himself – but Browne is not concerned about where the runs come from as long as the team win.

He added: “Ideally we’d like someone to step up and make a big score but having said that if everyone is making a contribution then it doesn’t really matter how we get the runs, as long as we get them.

“The end justifies the means, essentially we want to win and it’s nice when everyone contributes.”

There will be a couple of changes to the side who won at Bere Regis as Harry Mitchell and Dominic Webb are both unavailable.

Coming in for them are Tom England and David Pearce.
