THE Tornadoes of South Dorset competed in round one of the Southern Junior League, which was held at Weymouth.

The majority of swimmers achieved at least one personal best time which team coach Bill Babb stated was a result of all their hard work.

The Tornadoes were delighted with their third-placed finish, which places them in a strong position for the next round which will be at the Littledown pool in Bournemouth.

The team captains were Lizzy Gant for the girls and Luke O’Dowd for the boys.

The club are also delighted to announce a new partnership with local taxi firm, Weyline.

The firm have agreed a one-year sponsorship deal with the Portland-based club, which includes both financial support and help with the provision of transport to out of area galas.

Club chairman Julie Samouelle said she was thrilled to be supported by such a reputable local firm.

She met with a Weyline representative, at Osprey Leisure Centre where he watched a training session and then presented the new Southern Junior League T-shirts to SJL captains, Gant and O’Dowd.

The partnership will run for a year and the Tornadoes will proudly display the Weyline logo on their club kit from September.
