WEYMOUTH’S Charlie Davis is keen for his side to turn Saturday’s 6-0 FA Cup defeat to Kidderminster Harriers into positive energy as they turn their attention back to the league.

Davis was played out wide in the loss and felt the game passed many of Terras’ players by.

It wasn’t Davis’ first thrashing at this stage of the FA Cup having been part of the Dorchester Town team that lost 7-1 to Bristol Rovers in 2014.

He told Echosport: “It’s a nearly thing for me, but I’ve played two very strong sides.

“Going to their stadium on Saturday and seeing their pitch and the facilities, we said that this is what we want to be arriving at every week.

“We were really up for but I think the game eluded us.

“We may have been beaten 6-0 but we haven’t become a bad team overnight.”

Weymouth had put together a strong run of form together before Saturday with a seven-game unbeaten run across all competitions.

Now, Davis hopes his team-mates can show that form on Saturday.

“We want to put it behind us as soon as possible. We would’ve loved a game in midweek.

“As a team, we will bounce back very quickly and get our pride back as soon as possible.

“The defeat will be very short-lived.”
