THE Hazel Green Winter Foursomes came to a conclusion with Mary Crampton and Sally Little taking the crown at Came Down Golf Club.
It was a day when the heavens truly opened but this didn’t deter the eventual winners who edged out Wendy Gregory and Mo Moore.
Crampton and Little found themselves ahead, being four-up before Gregory and Moore clawed the score back to being just one down by the 17th.
But from a long way back on the fairway, Little hit the shot of her life, landing the ball just three feet from the hole and securing the match.
Elsewhere, Came Ladies have reached the Dudsbury Golf Club’s Western Division Final of the Legg Bowl.
The team, consisting of two silver players, Sue Stokey and Mary Crampton, and two bronze players, Wendy Gregory and Sheila Vogwell, will now play either Bramshaw or Bridport.
On their journey to the final they beat the ladies from Sherborne, Crane Valley, Highcliffe Castle and Ferndown.
