WEYMOUTH Wildcats have been forced into making a late change for their meeting on the Isle of Wight this evening (7pm).

Matt Bates, who was set to skipper the Wildcats for the Bryn Williams Celebration meeting against the Warriors, has sustained a knee injury and is unable to take part.

That means the Weymouth outfit have drafted Tom Wooley at number four, with Kelsey Dugard taking over as captain.

Weymouth co-promoter James Tresadern said: “We are still more than confident. I know we have had a couple of late changes but we still have a team that can go and do a job over there.

“I still think we can get over there and win but it will be a lot harder now we have lost Matt.”

He added: “I’m hoping Tom will get stuck in, If he gets four or five points that will suit us down to the ground.”
