DORSET County player Lee Turle, from Parkstone, beat Dorchester captain and fellow county star Robby Morris 5-4 in the Portland Easter Open competition.

There was £1,200 of prize money on offer at the tournament played at the Conservative Club, which saw Turle repeat his success from the Christmas competition.

Portland player Samantha Kirton, recently selected for the Dorset County A team, could not repeat her Christmas win after being defeated 4-3 in the final by Sarah Chick.

The match was of a high standard and consisted of scores of 180 and a 114 shot out. Sixty-four players took to the oche from across Dorset and Somerset in eight groups of round-robin play. This put 32 qualifiers into a knockout stage and there was also a separate ladies’ competition.

The tournament was organised by Andy and Stewart Masters who would like to thank all the players and sponsors who supported the event which following the recent success of the Christmas Portland Open, has now established the club as a top darts venue in Dorset.
