ABBOTSBURY will face Charlton Down in the Dorchester & District Evening League Cup semi-finals after Simon Mitchem’s 40 allowed his side to set Plush 140 to win.

Krishnan Subramanian then removed Plush’s top three batsmen and Will McKay mopped up the tail with 4-13 to leave the home side victors by 64 runs.

Swans’ bowlers will now have to cope with Sam Roles, who smashed 200 against Puddletown RFC, in their last-four clash.

In Division One, St George’s maintained their unbeaten league record with two wins. They defeated Bere Regis by seven wickets and then Tim Goodhew’s three wickets plus three late run-outs left Cattistock short of troubling the Saints.

Division Two bottom side Frampton lost again, skipper James Pretty’s 45 not out proving nowhere near enough to trouble Cattistock, Ben Golledge’s unbeaten 70 leading to an easy eight-wicket win.

Cosmos kept up their challenge for the Division Three title with two wins.

A total of 135 helped by John Wilson’s 51 not out proved too much for Puddletown RFC and then

Duncan Macbean’s unbeaten 66 enabled them to despatch Casuals by five wickets.

ASM are off the mark at last after an unbeaten 129 from Rob Murphy and 4-23 from Will Proctor helped them to victory over Puddletown Seconds.

Puddletown had better luck against Charlton Down Seconds.

Callum Chaldecott’s bowling, with the first three wickets for just eight runs restricted the away side to 113. Chaldecott then added 40 runs to cement the man of the match performance, with M Crabb adding 49 not out for victory.

This was revenge for Charlton’s earlier win by just four runs, due in part to Dan Stevens conceding only one run from his four overs.
